Options charges are brokerage (flat, usually ₹15 to ₹20 per order or free with some brokers), plus STT of 0.15% on the sell premium, NSE exchange transaction charges of 0.03503% on premium turnover, SEBI charges, stamp duty of 0.003% on the buy side, and 18% GST on brokerage plus transaction and SEBI charges. This calculator adds them all up per broker.
From 1 April 2026, STT on options is 0.15% of the premium on the sell side, and STT on futures is 0.05% on the sell side. Both were raised on that date. The calculator uses these current rates.
